Robinhood Announces Recurring Investment for Cryptocurrency

Recurring Investments or automatic investments that take place on a set day(s) each week is something that has been taken for granted in traditional investing for a long time. I’ve used recurring investment a few times for my own portfolio. I had no idea that recurring investments couldn’t be used on cryptocurrency prior to this announcement.

Crypto has become something of a hot topic among the Robinhood community. Robinhood has just recently added Wallet Integration. People continue to complain and ask for more. I get that people want what they want, and that at some level customer complaints is what made wallet integration a priority in the first place but complaining seems to be the chosen method of communication as Robinhood customers.

Shiba is a newer Crypto-Currency jumping on the Dogecoin bandwagon. It is essentially a joke but due to the nature of crypto it has soared in popularity and price. It was created in 2013 and between this time up until 2021 its price has stayed well below 1 cent (USD) due to popularity created this year as well as last year Dogecoin has skyrocketed allowing for massive profits if you invested early. Shiba is a new coin with this framework in mind. Robinhood users want to be able to get in early on what could be the next dogecoin themed success story. Robinhood added Dogecoin in 2016, three years after its initial release. Shiba may very well get on Robinhood, but the company needs to be careful to not kneel too deeply to customers as the demands will become greater and greater the more they give in. Robinhood is trying to make a name for themselves in crypto and make their crypto offerings the best it can be but by catering to the meme currency customers, they could lose the business of the serious crypto traders.
